In short: LVE works on your device. We receive neither your inventory data nor names, signatures or photos. There is no account with us, no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. When you sync, the data only goes to your iCloud or to the server you enter yourself.
Who is responsible
For the LVE app:
DXT Systems GmbHHauptstr. 130
09619 Dorfchemnitz
Germany
[email protected]
For the data you record in LVE about other people, such as employees, customers or signatures, the company that uses LVE is responsible. See Data about other people.
What the app stores on your device
- your inventory: articles with photos, prices, barcodes and accessories, locations, stock, bookings and serial numbers,
- recipients: customers, sites and employees with name, number or personnel number, department, address, contact person and email address, as far as you enter them,
- delivery notes and the handover and return of equipment, with the names and signatures of the people involved, optional condition photos and the PDFs created from them,
- your company profile with address and logo, and the name you enter in the app. It appears on bookings and documents,
- your settings, printer settings and recent searches.
LVE stores signatures as images, exactly as they were drawn on the screen. None of this is sent to us: we do not run a server the app could send this data to.
Camera and photos
LVE uses the camera to scan barcodes, QR codes and serial numbers. The image is analysed on the device only and not stored. Only photos you take or choose yourself are stored, such as an article photo or condition photos at a handover. You choose photos in the system photo picker. LVE only sees the pictures you pick, not your whole library.
Printers
To print labels, LVE connects to Niimbot printers over Bluetooth, or over the local network to network label printers whose address you enter. With AirPrint, the system handles printing. Label contents go straight to the printer.
Sync through iCloud
With LVE Pro you can sync your inventory between your devices through iCloud, and with LVE Team you can also share it with other people. All data listed above, including photos, signatures and PDFs, is then kept in your iCloud account. When you share the inventory, the people you invite can see and edit it too, and they see your iCloud name. iCloud is provided by Apple; the Apple Privacy Policy applies. So that other devices pick up changes, iCloud sends a silent notification through Apple's push service. Without sync turned on, LVE does not use iCloud.
Sync through your own server
Instead of iCloud, LVE can sync with a server your company runs. The app then sends all data listed above, including photos, signatures and PDFs, to that server. To sign in, you enter a username and password or a pairing code. LVE does not store the password, only the access key the server returns, in this device's keychain. With every sign-in the app sends a device identifier, the device name and the model, so the server can tell your devices apart.
The operator of that server, not us, is responsible for the data on it. Questions about how long it keeps data and who can access it are answered by the operator, usually your employer.
If your company holds an LVE licence from us, its server passes it to the app. The app checks the licence on the device. No connection to us is made for this.
Sharing and emailing documents
You can pass on delivery notes, handover protocols, reports and labels through the system share menu or send them with the Mail app. You choose the recipients and the way yourself. LVE sends nothing without your action.
Purchases
You buy LVE Pro and LVE Team through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment. We receive neither payment details nor your name. The app only checks on your device whether a valid purchase exists.
Backups
The database holding your inventory, documents, photos and signatures can be part of your device backup, depending on how you set up iCloud Backup or the backup on your computer. The access key for a server stays on this device and does not move to a new device.
Crash reports
LVE contains no crash or usage analytics of its own. If you allowed sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple passes anonymised crash reports on to us. You can turn this off there at any time.
Data about other people
When a company uses LVE to hand out material or equipment to employees and customers, it processes their names, contact details, signatures and possibly photos. Under the GDPR, that company is then the controller. It decides which data it records, how long it keeps documents and who has access through iCloud or its own server, and it informs the people concerned. We have no access to this data and do not process it on anyone's behalf.
If you are recorded in LVE as an employee or customer and have questions about it, please contact the company that handed you the equipment or issued the delivery note.
Deleting data
“Erase All Data” in the app's settings removes everything LVE stored on this device and ends any sync. Deleting the app removes the data as well. Data in iCloud can be deleted in your device settings under your name, “iCloud”, “Manage Storage” and “LVE”. Data on your own server is deleted by its operator. Nothing is kept with us that would need deleting.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Since we do not receive any personal data through the app, there is usually nothing for us to disclose. For questions, write to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner.
Changes
If the app changes so that this policy is no longer accurate, we update it and the date above.
